AFROBEAT music legend Bunny Mack famous for his 1981 smash hit Let Me Love You which won a gold disc has passed away suddenly in the early hours of this morning at his east London home.  

Mack, 70, who was originally from Sierra Leone, has been living in the UK, where he performs now and again to selected audiences. In December, he was the start performer at The African Party, organised by Nigerian Watch, which took place at the Kensington Town Hall on Horton Street in West London. 

Movie producer Collins Archie-Pearce, one of Mack's close associates, said: "We have lost a one of our biggest talented musicians who paved the way for Sierra Leoneans in the music entertainment world. One of his songs hit number one in the chart in the 80s and for me that is something to be proud of. 

"Goodbye Bunny Mack and may your gentle soul rest in perfect peace."

 Bunny Mack was voted Musician of the Year by African Muzik Magazine after Let Me Love You catapulted him to international stardom. He began playing the harmonica and penny-whistle at the age of six and made his first public appearance when at the age of eight he played with friends in a band called The Daverns
