Suspected assassins on Thursday fatally shot an All Progressives Congress chieftain Mr. Shalewa Daramola, in Festac Town, Amuwo Odofin local government, Lagos.

Daramola was until his death the Assistant Treasurer at the APC’s Amuwo Odofin chapter.

The shooting occurred at a compound on 3rd Avenue, ‘K’ Close, Festac Town during an APC Sallah event.

It is understood that the deceased stepped out of the premises when one of the gunmen accosted him, demanding for money in what is now believed to have been a decoy to get his attention.

Daramola told the stranger he had no money. Immediately, the gunman shot the APC official four times at close range before jumping into a waiting motorbike.

Daramola was rushed to the Local Government Primary Health Centre, from where he was referred to another hospital in Festac Town.

He died on his way there.

There has been no official statement from the police or the APC as at press time.
