Why Saraki’s Wife is wanted as a guest of the EFCC

The new look EFCC on Wednesday sent an invitation letter the way of the Senate President’s wife.

Toyin Saraki, the better half of Senate President, Bukola Saraki, will be interrogated by EFCC operatives on July 28 over alleged shady contracts she supervised during her husband’s reign as the Governor of Kwara State.

Mrs Saraki had several companies linked to her while her husband was Kwara Governor. Those companies executed a slew of contracts which the anti-graft agency suspects didn’t follow the rule books.

The wife of an ex-Governor of Kebbi State, Mrs. Zaina Dakingari, has also been invited for questioning by the EFCC.

Dakingari will answer questions on the alleged misappropriation of N2bn state funds.

On Wednesday, the EFCC grilled the Senior Special Assistant on Schools and Agricultural Programmes to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Baraka Sani.

Sani is the first aide of the former President to be grilled by the EFCC. She’ll be asked questions pertaining to funds voted for schools agricultural programmes.

The commission is said to be working on the allegation that funds voted for schools agricultural programmes were diverted.

Ekekeee has learnt that President Muhammadu Buhari’s pledge to investigate former Ministers and government officials for corruption, wasn’t mere bluster. High ranking government officials and anti-corruption agency sources have informed this medium that in the next couple of weeks, past Ministers and government officials found to have submerged their hands in the public till, will be asked to answer for their crimes by the EFCC.

‘Tis a season of popcorn and drinks.
