A woman posted a photo to the Internet, showing her young disabled son in a washing machine. 

21-year-old Courtney Stewart of Erskine, Scotland, was questioned by police after posting the photo to Facebook, showing her child with Down syndrome trapped in the washing machine.

Stewart caused outrage on the Internet, after the photo of her son in the washing machine went viral. In the photo, an adult is seen holding the door of the washing machine shut while the 2-year-old child was inside.

The 21-year-old mother refused to apologize for her actions, saying that it was done as a joke and that her son likes the washing machine.

After the photo was posted to social media, a 42-year-old woman confronted Stewart at her home and assaulted the young mother over her actions.

Police were called and the 42-year-old woman was arrested on charges of assault.
