A woman allegedly burned he 14-year-old daughter using kerosine after finding her misusing maize flour in Furfural village, Likuyani subcounty.

The victim’s brother said that the mother poured about a litre of kerosene and set her ablaze after she returned home and found her dipping the flour in cooking oil.

When asked by mum where she had gotten the flour, our sister lied that she had borrowed it from a neighbour, prompting mum to rush to the said neighbour to confirm.

The girl’s brother said that their mother canned his sister after the neighbur denied giving the girl flour. She escaped her mother’s grip and locked herself in her bedroom but the mother kicked down the door where she set her on fire.

The Standard 7 pupil was rescued by neighbours who took her to a dispensary where she was given first aid before she was transferred to Kitale subcounty Hospital.
