A Barrister, Social Crusader, a Minister, a leader, The man of the People and now Turbaned as Magayakin Bukkuyum. 

To God be the Glory, I have done my part and I give glory to God and in the same vein I thank every Nigerian. 

Speaking with Francis John – APC, USA International Coordinator, the newly installed Magayakin of Bukkuyum has this to say in appreciation to the entire people of Zamfara State, Northern Nigeria and Nigeria as whole for finding him worthy of this great honor among others: “Rejoice with those who are rejoicing and mourn with those mourning”  obligated the Holy Scriptures. This has been my principles which spurred me to travel to the ancient town of Bukkuyum in Bukkuyum Local Government Area in Zamfara State, North West Nigeria on Saturday, 24th October 2015. 

It will be recalled that sometime early this year, I solicited for prayers when my friend and royal father the Emir of Bukkuyum, Alhaji Muhammad Usman was kidnapped in front of his house after evening prayers by unknown gunmen.  Glory be to God for answers prayers he was released unharmed, but with attendant ransom;

Consequently, I decided to spring a surprise with a visit less than 24 hours’ notice. His Royal Highness could not believe me especially it was my first time to travel to that area. I set up for my trip while the Emir kept reaching out on the phone. With the Support of Zamfara State government and Muryan Talaka my adventure was smooth and successful. Despite persuasions about the security situation in the area, I was determined to lay my life in pursuing peaceful coexistence and harmony. So I prayed, then proceeded to reunite with my second family. 

In the evening, the Emir intimated me that I am into a big surprise because he had in due consultations with the Traditional Council concluded plans to coronate me as MAGAYAKIN BUKKUYUM, "The Warrior". I requested for a time to give it a reflection in view of my disposition to such titles and ceremonies in the past.  

However, after thorough consideration, I agreed based on the following reasons. First, taking into consideration the hospitality and love demonstrated by the people, it will not be fair to disappoint them their zeal for social harmony. Secondly, it is unimaginable that as Tarok Christian from Plateau State, I am honored with a title of "The Warrior" in a predominantly Islamic Fulani community? Then national integration and peaceful coexistence is possible in Nigeria, I concluded.  

Barrister Solomon Dalung added; as the people gathered for the ceremony, I fought tears running down my eyes looking at how the people treated me. Nigerians are good people I must confess, I could not fathom the show of love and hospitality demonstrated by the people. I didn't remember that I am a different person from them. It was indeed consolidation of a formidable social bond which I will ever remember. The bottom line is; I am now the MAGAYAKIN BUKKUYUM, the Warrior of Bukkuyum Emirate. I am, indeed, grateful to His Royal Highness, Alhaji Muhammad Usman, the Traditional Council and the Entire People of the Emirate for their magnanimity.

A renowned peoples’ person remarked regrettably in a soft spoken voice: “I am sorry it was a royal ambush, I denied you the opportunity of attending the occasion. Here are some pictures for you”.

In conclusion, the specially decorated Magayakin Bukkuyum - Barrister Solomon gave God the Glory and capped the interview by saying; “I Love Nigeria, God bless Nigeria”!
