Armed Robbery: I received money as an informant

A 26-year-old girl, Ujunwa Ikwuka who was among the five car snatch syndicates arrested by the Anambra state command for snatching a Toyota Rav-4 SUV car belonging to one Amah Chinyere Theodera at gun point, has revealed she was given a stipend of N4, 000 for being the snitch in the business.

The Sun reports that Ujunwa who is currently in police net in the state said she received the said amount for giving information to armed robbers that snatched an SUV in Ihiala.

Ujunwa who hails from Umunamehi in Ihiala Local Government Area of the state said, “I’m the one who showed my gang the vehicle.

“I know the woman that owns the Jeep. She lives beside my house and when they asked me who the owner of the Jeep was, I showed them.

She said she was serving at a bar joint in Ihiala but due to her father’s ill health, she stopped the job to take care of him.

“My father later died; afterwards, I joined the gang. I did not say I am not involved, I got N4, 000 for giving them information,” she added.

Mr. Ali Okechukwu, the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, said the car was later recovered from the suspects who are now assisting on their investigation.
