Police in Oyo State have arrested Hassan Maikudi who connived with his gang members to kidnap his rich father and demand a ransom.
30-year old Hassan Maikudi, have been arrested by the Nigerian Police in Oyo State for conniving with his gang members to kidnap his rich father for N1.5m ransom. He monitored him as he was going to mosque for prayers and alerted the gang.
Other members of the gang are Abdullahi Mohammed, Abubakar Abubakar, Damanya Gambo, Usman Idris, and Usman Saidu. Hassan ensured that the sum of N1.5m was paid after some of his father’s cattle were sold. He got N700, 000 as his share.
Okeho and Iganna, 2 communities comprising of Fulani cattle herdsmen and the Yoruba, had been under the grip of the gang for long and Hassan’s father’s kidnap almost generated bad blood as the Fulanis accused the Yorubas of the Kidnap.
The I.G of Police, Arase, however quickly deployed his men to go undercover and mix with members of the communities to crack the case. Within two weeks, the culprits were arrested.
