Five Reported Killed and Many Injured from The Biafra Protest in Anambra

Photos making rounds on social media, has revealed that some protesters have been killed while many injured as IPOB members blocked Niger bridge in protest for the release of their leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

The Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) protests contined in Onitsha, the commercial city of Anambra on 1st and 2nd of December, as protesters were marching unarmed and peacefully when alleged 'uniform policemen with no identity badges' opened fire on them, killing five, injuring many civilians and arresting over 100 of them.

It can be recalled that they are protesting for the release of Radio Biafra director and leader of the Independent People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu who was arrested and is currently on trial.

According to The Biafra Herald, "the protests have not in any form resulted to violence and even when they were shot at and killed, they still remained peaceful and non-violent.

But it’s now a question of how long their patience can hold out, how long can they hold their peace? They have stayed calm and quiet, while they watch the Nigerian forces assault and violate their rights.

The situation has now taken a new turn, in the sense that the protesters are now restless and angry by the extent the security forces has gone in killing yet again another Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) members."

Below are graphic photos from the victims of yesterday and today's protests in Onitsha, Anambra State.
