It really saddens me that a highly educated, learned, sophisticated and internationally exposed woman with a good parental pedigree can be a party to such perfidy and chicanery as the armsgate! I therefore totally agree with the position canvassed by Governor Adams Oshiomhole that Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala must be brought to book for the ignoble role she played in contributing to the economic adversity of the country!!!

The categorical but grim admission by the immediate Past Minister of Finance and Coordinating Economy, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, that she disbursed a whooping sum of $322 M (Three Hundred and  Twenty-Two Million Dollars) to the erstwhile National Security Adviser, retired Colonel Sambo Dasuki on the directive of former President Goodluck Jonathan to me is the climax of the so called armsgate that has been rocking the country for the past three weeks.

It is disheartening, disconcerting and disturbing that money budgeted to purchase weaponry for the military to fight the deadly, ruthless, merciless and murderous terrorist gang that has ravaged, plundered and pillaged the North Eastern Region of the country for the past five years leaving in its deadly wake the death of thousands of innocent people and destruction of property could be handled in such a reckless and indeed perfunctory manner! It is simply mindboggling the base level the political elites can descend in the obsession to accumulate capital. I make bold to state that for such huge sums of money to be disbursed and spent without  appropriation by the National Assembly, is yhe height of audacity, impudence, impunity and mindless lawlessness!

It was also admitted by the embittered former Minister that the money that she disbursed to the former National Security Adviser was part of the loot by late General Sanni Abacha that was returned to the country. Also by the Constitution any money that comes to the coffers of the Federal government must be appropriated before it can be spent. The Bible says out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh!

The confession by Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is in law an admission that does not require proof again.
