Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari has denied collecting the sum of $300,000 from former National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki.
Dasuki in his statement to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had claimed that he gave the President $300,000 out of the $2b meant for the purchase of arms for the Nigerian military.
However, Buhari speaking through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adeshina, stated that he did not receive a kobo from the former NSA as being claimed by Dasuki.
He noted that he only got two Toyota Land Cruiser jeeps from the Presidency before his inauguration on May 29, 2015.
Adesina said the jeeps, one armoured and the other ordinary, were sent to Buhari shortly after the attack on his vehicles in Kaduna State by members of the Boko Haram sect.
Buhari was attacked in July 2014 by the Boko Haram terrorists on Ali Akilu Road, Kawo-Kaduna.
