Four Nigerians to serve in Obama Administration: World Leaders should emulate President Obama - Francis John, USA

APC USA International Secretariat on behalf of Diaspora Nigerians is proudly appreciative of the people and United States Government for smartly appointing:

  1. Mr. Debo Adegbile lead the Civil Rights Division at the Department of Justice.

  2. Dr. Olufunmilayo Falusi Olopade joins a Five-Member National Cancer Advisory Board.

  3. Ms. Bukola Love Oriola as a member of the US Advisory Council on Human Trafficking.

  4. Mr. Adewale Adeyemo Obama’s Deputy National Security Adviser for International Economic Affair.

We are sure, Nigerians around the globe are proud with the appointments of Mr. Adegbile and Dr. Oladipo, two positions of recognition in the United States and employ every other nation that deem Nigerians fit, to kindly do as America.

Announcing the appointments, President Obama said, “These dedicated individuals bring a wealth of experience and talent to their new roles and I am proud to have them serve in this Administration. I look forward to working with them in the months and years to come.”

To APC USA International Secretariat, these appointments further indicate Nigerians relevance in the eyes of Americans and the world, even though among rotten eggs, there are good ones. So are the two new appointees. We expect these two laureates to upshot Nigerians images with their respective positions, as President Muhammadu Buhari is gradually actualizing effortlessly Nigerians images at 73.

President Obama never directly knew either Mr. Adegbile nor Dr. Oladipo, but accepted creditable recommendations from junior officers, not based on faith, ethnicity or family linkages, but on excellence and productivity, set aside human weaknesses, as known to be used as determining factors in African Appointments in Africa.

If it were in Nigeria, federal character would have been the basis of Mr. Adegbile and Dr. Oladipo appointments, including, faith and ethnicity. Notably, most reason, why we are -  where we are before now and today!

Even though some Nigerian decision makers lived and worked abroad for years, most of them are still tied to ethnicity and faith, and among friendships. It is also prevalent in our local meetings and various discuss. Meaning, Diaspora Nigerians have not wholly given into and taken advantage of the benefits of being abroad, yet to let go of beliefs and heritages.  This is primitive.

Nigerian Government and Politicians must imbibe more of President Obama’s accolades in subsequent appointments, with the notion of further delivering Nigeria from the menace it found itself, bedevilled by clamorous looting; according to Late popular musician, Fela Anikulapo Kuti -  African 70 “Authority Stealing”.

Nigerians use whatever position to amass unnecessarily wealth and take and or abscond overseas with immediate families, whereas their respective communities are languishing in serious need of just drinking water. It is not an understatement to pronounce Nigerian Leaders as unfriendly human beings, haste the nation and their communities, never gives back.  Whenever, they decide on giving back, only do so when in urgent need to use people and community for selfish interests, the token is shared in high demand for services.

All these factors led previous administrations and People Democratic Party’s (PDP) failures, thinking it’s all about money, Nigeria is for sale. Again, ascribing to using authority and position to steal. Is this an ego thing or primitiveness?
