"I was duped by a General of the sum of N150,000" - Arrested Fake soldier

A FAKE soldier arrested in Ogun State, Abiodun Emmanuel, has explained why he was parading himself as a member of the Nigerian Army.

Emmanuel told GatewayMail during an interview at Eleweran Police Command in Abeokuta that after several attempts to be recruited as a solider failed he decided to go about showing himself as a member of the Nigerian Army.

He specifically stated that his passion to become a solider also accounted for his action to parade himself about as a genuine soldier.

Emmanuel explained that during his several attempts to be recruited he was duped N150,000 at a point when an official of the Nigerian Army promised to assist him secure admission, but the effort turned out to be a ruse.
“I have always wanted to serve in the Nigerian Army and have applied several times, but I was not admitted into the force,” Emmanuel said.  “In my effort to get into the Nigeria Army, I was duped by a General of the sum of N150,000 but all my efforts proved abortive.”
Emmanuel added that his passion for the profession had no bounds, while confessing that he was able to get the uniform at the popular Aba Market in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State.

He disclosed that he had assisted many people in effecting arrest of suspects who were often handed over to the police.
The suspect further said that before his arrest he had provided security escorts for several pastors on contract agreement which he usually billed them.
“I go to pastors and if they need escort, if they agreed I negotiate with them, meet with police officers who serve as escort to my clients,” Emmanuel said.
The suspect said that he relocated from Port-Harcourt to Ogun State, after he couldn’t make headway there and fortune didn’t smile on him, but unfortunately he was arrested by men of the Ogun State Police Command.
