There is nothing wrong with authoritarian and tyrannical rule if that is what is required to move Nigeria a country that was ahead of Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Brazil about 60 years ago but which has terribly bogged down by horrendous bad leadership and governance so much so that it is tottering on the brink of a failed State.
The legendary and phenomenal Prime Minister of Singapore, Lee Yew Kuan who massively transformed that Island City State from a despicable and derelict Colonial economical backward and outpost to an advanced industrialized country within four decades was derided by the Western press, opponents and critics as a tyrant, authoritarian and a dictator!
Also General Park Chung-hee of the Republic of South Korea who also transformed that country through transformational and inspirational leadership was dismissed as a tyrant and authoritarian! He was President of the Republic of Korea from 1962 to 1979!
If dictatorship and tyranny is what President Muhammadu Buhari needed to impose to end massive looting of public funds, stealing, graft, corruption and indiscipline so be it!
In China, there is nothing known as Rule of Law, yet China is today regarded as the second biggest economy in the world. It took China just sixty years to transformed from a backward feudal country into a world powerhouse! There is no country that has limitless human rights! Not even the United States that is regarded as the bastion of liberal democracy! Under the Nigerian Constitution, government has the right to infringe on the right of anybody whose conduct or action infringes on the rights of the general public or is a threat to public morality, safety and health!
What should somebody like Dasuki whose conduct led to the death of thousands of people in the North East region in the hands of the murderous and anarchist terror group such as Boko Haram hide under the cloak of human rights to escape justice? Which kind of justice system would allow the likes of Dasuki to roam freely while those who are accused of stealing motor cycles and other petty crimes are languishing in prisons?
