A 14-year-old girl on Friday dragged a businessman, one Malam Yahai, before a Magistrates’ court sitting in Jigawa State for allegedly raping and impregnating her.

According to the unidentified complainant who works as a house girl to the accused’s wife, Yahai has raped her several times.

Speaking in the court presided over by Magistrate Aliyu Roni of the Maigatarin Bawan Allah Village in Garki Local Government, she pleaded that Yahai be compelled to take responsibility of naming of the new born baby she delivered, including slaughtering a ram and providing clothes for her son.

She said, “Yahai always took advantage of me whenever his wife was out of the house.

“My Lord, I cannot recall how many times he forced himself on me,” she added.

Meanwhile, the suspect who pleaded not guilty to the charges, was reportedly accused of allegedly giving N30, 000 as bribe to the representative of the village of Siyori, Malam Salisu Makaho to influence police officers handling the case.

Magistrate Roni ordered for further investigation, adding that when police concludes investigation, a date for continuation of hearing will be fixed. He adjourned till the completion of police investigations.
