Popularly known as White Naija Girl, Emese is from Hungary but married to a Nigerian man. Her husband, who is a Yoruba man, gave her the name ‘Ibukun,’ which means ‘blessing.’
Two years ago, she went viral after she was seen hawking pure water and cold drinks in traffic. Asides from being married to a Nigerian, Ibukun loves the country so much that she’s making sure her children knows the culture of their fatherland.
Since she’s been here, there are some things Ibukun has learnt in Nigeria as a white person.
- As a white person, she cannot hide because she stands out.
- She lives in Akute, area of Ogun state. The electricity issue there is bad but while sitting in the dark, when the light comes back on, everyone is excited.
