Horrific! Burundi Protesters Burn Man to Death

A local media reported that Burundi protesters burned a man to death on Thursday in Bujumbura.

The report said the man was accused of being a member of the ruling party's Imbonerakure youth wing, saying the group had launched attacks on them.

"They put tyres around his neck and then burned him," it said.

Meanwhile, an eyewitness who spoke on condition of anonymity said the protesters on Wednesday erect a barricade, as they demonstrated against the ruling CNDD-FDD party's decision to allow Burundian President Pierre Nkurunziza to run for a third five-year term in office.

He said the protesters were back on the streets of Bujumbura on Thursday and one person was killed, after President Pierre Nkurunziza told demonstrators to halt rallies against his third term bid.

He said the president had promised to make his third term the last if he wins.

Opponents said the president, who has been in office since the end of an ethnically fuelled civil war in 2005, was violating the peace deal and constitution by seeking a new five-year term.
