Tippi Hedren is perhaps best known for her role in the Alfred Hitchcock classic The Birds.  But as many Hollywood celebrities are wont to do, Hedren channeled her fame and success into something well beyond what normal people would consider acceptable.  On the one hand we can be thankful she didn’t turn to drugs and alcohol like so many others, yet on the other it’s perhaps just a little more troubling that she had opted to spend a fortune on a lion.  And not the kind of lion that you send $3 away to, get pamphlets about its shots and feel good about.  Tippi Hedren and her family welcomed a whole new member of their family into the fold: Neil the Lion.
