South Africa’s supreme court of appeal has found Paralympian, Oscar Pistorius guilty of murder over the death of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp.      

This latest verdict overturns a previous conviction for culpable homicide. THE GUARDIAN UK reports that the court has ordered the original trial judge,Thokozile Masipa to impose a harsher sentence. The minimum sentence for murder is 15 years in prison.

Appeal court judge, Justice Eric Leach ruled that “The accused ought to have been found guilty of murder''.

According to BBC, Pistorius can challenge the ruling in the constitutional court but only if his lawyers can argue that his constitutional rights have been violated.
