Nigeria’s Asisat Oshoala, has been announced as the BBC Women’s Player of the Year.
The Super Falcons forward, beat Spain’s Veronica Boquete, Germany’s Nadine Kessler and Scotland’s Kim Little and also Brazilian forward Marta, to the award.
Oshoala, who now plays her football for Liverpool Ladies FC of England, was named the African Woman Player of the Year and African Youth Player of the Year at the Glo/CAF Awards in January.
She is currently with the national team preparing for the FIFA World Cup in Canada.
The 20-year-old began her career with FC Robo Queens of Lagos and moved to Rivers Angels four years later. She signed for Liverpool Ladies early this year.
