FIFA U20 World Cup: Flying Eagles - 4 DPR Korea - 0

The flying eagles this morning thrashed the Democratic Republic of Korea 4-0 in their second game at the FIFA U-20 world cup in New Zealand.

Manu Garba's team had lost their opening game to Brazil with a 4-2 loss. However, they cruised to victory in their second match and will meet Hungary in their final match.  

The first half went goalless, with both teams missing chances.

Nigeria however broke the deadlock in the 48th minute when Saviour Godwin header connected to a cross by Musa Muhammed.

Saviour Godwin got his second from another fine pass from Taiwo Awoniyi and puts it behind the Korean goalkeeper, making the Koreans less daunting.

Kingsley Sokari powered in a third goal after a rebound from a free kick, sending the flying eagles flying.

With ten minutes left to go substitute Success Isaac scores from a narrow angle off a well weighted pass from Awoniyi.

Musa Yaya, Iheanacho were dropped benched following defeat in the first game but both came in in the second half.

Nigeria now leads the table, pending result from the Hungary vs Brazil match.

Hungary in their opening game beat DPR Korea 5-1 who are currently sitting at the bottom of the table.
