Why The Fight Will Continue Even If Saraki Falls, By Yahaya Moh’d

Let me make this point clear, I am not an apologist of Senate President Bukola Saraki, but I love people who are strong, astute and decisive in whatever they do, I love to see people make progress especially if they work hard, this love for strong and decisive people endeared Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to me,  my love for him grew when he led us to fight against his boss Obasanjo to kill the third term agenda, a lot of people will say its for his own selfish reason but then his selfish reason was in consonance with mood of Nigerians then.

Along the line I also got endeared to Bola Tinubu for the fight he also put up against Obasanjo’s penchant for impunity, lawlessness and witch hunt of perceived enemies, I remember at a certain time when Atiku commissioned his presidential campaign office at Gimbiya street, Area 11, Abuja,  Tinubu spoke to us about the 10,000 mw of electricity being promised but failed by Obasanjo then, Tinubu said “They promised 10,000 mw of electricity now the megawatts are in their wive’s kitchen, or in their pillows” I marveled at his rugged nature of standing up to the “truth” even against all odds.

I also love all those who stood up within the ruling PDP then to form the nPDP to challenge the sitting president Goodluck Jonathan on several issues, they were all selfish lots but their agitations then was also in tandem with the mood of Nigerians.

Among these men were Senate president Bukola Saraki, Atiku Abubakar, Kawu Baraje, Kwankwaso, Wammako, Babangida Aliyu, Abdulfatah Ahmed, Tambuwal, and the list goes on.

These men had tall and insatiable ambition, that was not realizable in PDP and many of them formed alliance with the APC (I refuse to use join APC because I know they have not joined) to realize their ambition, Buhari’s APC also used them to get to power, I doubt much if without them APC would have made reasonable impact.
That Singular alliance is the problem of Nigeria today, not PDP, not Jonathan, but APC and it’s strange bed fellows.

These men had a single enemy during the campaign, and that was Jonathan, had Jonathan allowed for a northern candidate in PDP, there wouldn’t have been nPDP, alliance and even loss of the election but he was selfish too, even in the face of gross incompetence. corruption as they claimed was not their enemy, because all of them where stakeholders in the Jonathan’s “house of corruption” and many other corrupt practices before Jonathan’s time so how is it their enemy?

With Jonathan roundly and squarely ousted, a new enemy is created and that is Saraki, what Saraki did, either in scheming to be senate president or in default of asset declaration, all others are guilty of it  too, but Saraki as a Senate president will be closer to become president than must others, so they gang up again to destroy him and his ambition.

After Saraki it will be Atiku, his eight years past fight with Obasanjo will be dug up and media trial will be made and all sorts of charges will come up and series of fight will let him no free time to pursue his ambition.

Then Tinubu, Already Tinubu’s acquittal at the code of conduct is being dug up as a mistake, a retrial will be ordered, his Lagos files will be dusted up and he made to face a massive onslaught that might send him into total and final retirement from politics.

Ameachi, already Ameachi’s influence has being whittled, no one else deserve to be a super minister than Ameachi, for abandoning his own “brother” Jonathan and joining forces with northerners and also for funding and steering the Buhari/ APC campaigns, all he got was been reluctantly made a Minister of transport, when the time comes to crush him, Wike’s file about Ameachi will be dusted and whoop! Ameachi will be thrown into a political dustbin like Saraki.

kwankwaso is already being targeted, everything he does or says now is manipulated to mean he wants to be president in 2019 and why not? Kwankwaso is qualified but the strange bed fellows he went into alliance with don’t want to hear that, they even see him now as a traitor, a liability and even a parasite so his days with anti corruption agencies is a matter of time.

And so the fight will not end with Saraki, rather it will continue until they successfully stab themselves, destroy the party and then form another one again. So sad! but that is the truth about Nigerian politics and politicians while the masses fight each other over the broom and the umbrella, the elites form alliance of corruption either as people deceiving people (PDP) or as Association of precious Crooks (APC)
