Former spokesperson of erstwhile president Goodluck Jonathan, Dr Doyin Okupe, has said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) no longer represents a credible alternative to the governing All Progressives Congress (APC).

Okupe who was speaking on a ChannelsTV breakfast program, Monday, said a third force is needed to rescue the people from the APC come 2019.

“The PDP has done a lot of wrongs in the past. Impunity has festered. Governors have become too powerful…the PDP is no longer an alternative for Nigerians”, Okupe declared.

Okupe also made it clear he’ll be part of a third force to bail Nigerians out of the haplessness of the governing APC, in 2019.

The former presidential spokesperson lamented that his party still doesn’t understand that voters can sweep off a party in power as seen during the Obasanjo years in the south west and last year at the center.

He decried that the culture of money politics and imposition hasn’t left the PDP. “The PDP was born and became powerful following the coalition in the Abacha years. Bola Tinubu put together a coalition that swept out the PDP after 16 years and in 2019, another coalition will sweep the APC and Buhari out of power”, Okupe predicted.
