Ondo election: Another lawyer representing Jimoh Ibrahim withdraws

Few weeks after a counsel representing the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate in the Ondo governorship election, Jimoh Ibrahim, Alex Izinyon withdrew , another lawyer, Jadegoke Badejo, has withdrawn his services.

Badejo on Wednesday informed the Appeal Court that he was withdrawing his services because loyalists of Ibrahim failed to stop the newly constituted three-man panel of judges led by Ibrahim Saulawa, from hearing the case.

The counsel prayed the court to adjourn the matter to enable him return the case file back to the PDP governorship candidate.

According to Badejo, “This is my 36th year in practice, in the circumstances, I want to return the file back to the client.

“I am asking for an adjournment. I have looked at all that transpired in court. I don’t enjoy the environment so I want to withdraw.

“I have looked at everything dispassionately and I have my God and integrity.”

The court had granted leave to factional governorship candidate of the PDP, Eyitayo Jegede, to appeal the ruling of an Abuja Federal High Court which replaced him with Ibrahim.
