Buhari said he is satisfied with the way and manner in which Inec conducted the polls

ALL Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate General Muhammadu Buhari has expressed satisfaction with the conduct of yesterday's elections despite a few hiccups which delayed voting in some states.

General Buhari , who is up against incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan in a tight race, cast his vote in his home town of Daura in Katsina State yesterday. Clad  in white, with a cap to match, he arrived at his local unit yesterday morning to register and vote, receiving a  tumultuous reception from supporters.

His  security detail had hectic time controlling the surging crowds as they made desperate attempt to shake hands with the man. Speaking at the centre, General Buhari expressed happiness over what he described as  excellent arrangements put in place by the Independent National Electoral Commission (Inec).

General Buhari said: “I think I am satisfied with the whole process so  far. Let me use this opportunity to call on my supporters  to remain calm and conduct themselves in the most peaceable manner throughout the elections.”

He added that from what he had  seen on the ground, Inec has really braced the odds. despite the general smooth conduct of the elections, there were problems in many areas as card readers failed to work and Inec officials had to register voters manually.

Also, in some state, not enough result sheets were available. These logistical problems resulted in the elections being carried over today in some areas to enable Inec provide the necessary materials and equipment.
