The All Progressives Congress has made a surprise victory in the Presidential and National Assembly election results i Ondo State as released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the party clinched two senatorial and five House of Representatives seats.
In the results released, APC won the Ondo North and Central senatorial seat, while PDP only won the Southern senatorial seat.
In the House of Representatives, APC won Owo/Ose, Akoko south west/east, Akoko Noth east/west, Akure south/North, and Ifedore/Idanre federal constituencies while PDP claimed, Ilaje/Ese-Odo, Odigbo/Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo,and Okitipupa/Irele federal constituencies.
Also, the party’s Presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari pulled 299,889 votes against the 251, 368 polled by the PDP candidate, Goodluck Jonathan.
This was not the expectation of the National leaders of APC who were expecting 25 percent votes from the state, due to the fact that the party has always fallen in the hands of PDP and LP since 2003.
