Interesting facts about Nigeria’s Presidential election results

The Independent National Electoral Commission has published on its website, the full results of the 28 March presidential election in Nigeria.

Nigerians are quite familiar with the figures for President-elect Muhammadu Buhari and President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

Mathematicians have added all the numbers contained in the 15,424, 921 votes won by Muhammadu Buhari and found them to be 28.

Also the 12, 853,162 won by President Goodluck Jonathan have also been added sideways: it was also found to be 28! The election was held on 28 March. What a curious coincidence! No wonder, people say that the outcome of the election was ordained by celestial forces.

The rejected votes of 844,519 are far more than the total votes scored by the 12 other candidates. They won a total of 319,581 votes.

The second runner-up in the election was Ayeni Musa Adebayo of APA, who polled 53,537, followed by Alhaji Ganiyu O. Galadima, who scored 40,311 votes.

The only woman in the race, Comfort Oluremi Sonaiya got only 13,076 votes.
