Could embattled Senate President, Bukola Saraki be under a curse? No, don’t give me that look; allow me die before you bury me.

If you will recall, Senator Bukola Saraki had a heated political battle with his biological father who he pitched against for the Kwara State Governorship seat.

During the battle between father son which many believe led to Saraki’s fathers’ death (There is no proof to this claim however), the father had publicly placed a cursed on Bukola, saying that he will ‘be disgraced out of politics’, just the same way Bukola did disgrace him out of politics.

You won’t blame him, what could be more hurting than a fierce battle from your son for your seat at all cost? Remeber David and his son, Absalom in the Bible?

Below were his exact words:

“Bukola you made me cry today after all I did for you as a son that I love so much you will be disgraced out of this game of politics except if am not your father.”

Are the persistent cases against Bukola Saraki which are clearly targeted at his position a fulfillment of his father’s ‘curse’? Saraki currently faces a forgery case and still has an ongoing case with the Code of Conduct Bureau for false attestation of his assets. Both cases threaten his position as Senate President and a politician.

However, the Senate President has come forward to say he would rather go to jail than step down as Senate President.

His exact words were “Let it be abundantly clear, both as a citizen and as a foremost Legislator, I will continue to rise above the persecution and distraction that have been visited on me.” He continued; “In the words of Martin Luther King Jr., ‘the ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at a time of challenge and controversy.'”

A statement by Ekweremadu says, “This latest attempt to try and convict him in the court of public opinion notwithstanding, we do not want to mount a public defense. We would rather meet them in court if they so wish. If an attempt on his life on November 17, 2015 [no facts or information to show that the police investigated an incident of such magnitude duly reported to them] did not deter him, certainly not even a purported police invitation, lawsuit, propaganda and intimidation would cow him.’’
