'Kalu Has Employed More Youth Than Any Living Politician’ — 7,000 People Contribute N1,000 Each For Former Gov's Nomination Form

"Kalu has built and still building more companies to employ the youth than any other Nigerian politician living or dead," Emeh James Anyalekwa, National Secretary of the O.U.K Volunteers, stated.

houands of youth under the aegis of the O.U.K. Volunteers, according to reports, are contributing N1,000 each to secure a political nomination form for Orji Uzor Kalu.

The youth - 7,000 of them - are expected to purchase the form for the former Abia State Governor, who is seeking to contest for the Abia North Senatorial seat in the 2019 elections.

According to Daily Trust, a statement from Kalu's media office noted that the gesture by the youth was to express appreciation for Kalu's efforts.

According to the statement, the youth noted that although they know Kalu could afford his nomination form, they want to show appreciation for all he has done for them.

Emeh James Anyalekwa, National Secretary of the O.U.K Volunteers, stated that the #7000Youth4OUK exercise "is a mass movement, a practical show of love by youths who believe in OUK".

He described his colleagues as "youths who have been positively impacted by OUK legacies via free education, scholarships, employment", among others.

Continuing, he said: "There are [more than] 10,000 youths in Nigeria who are directly employed by Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu and [more than] 100,000 who indirectly depend on his employment in order to survive.

"Kalu has built and still building more companies to employ the youth than any other Nigerian politician living or dead".

"OUK has made more youth millionaires and billionaires than any other Abia politician living or dead, these are verifiable facts.

"OUK gave free education in Abia from 1999-2007. The children who benefited from these people-oriented programmes are now successful adults who want to show appreciation and love to a man who has done so much for the youth.

"It's on record that OUK paid 13th month salaries to civil servants from 1999-2007. [Many] of the beneficiaries were youths."

Also speaking, Benjamin Kalu, National Coordinator OUK Volunteers, said: "2018 will go down in history as the first time 7,000 youths in Nigeria would support a politician with both their PVC and ATM cards.

"As a private Individual, Kalu in two years has attracted more kilometres of roads than all the NASS members in Abia State put together. Why should we have such a personality and misfits are representing us in the Senate?

"A single road built by Kalu from Aba to Umuahia, the old Aba-Umuahia Expressway was longer than all the roads constructed by Orji's administration from 2007-2015."
