The new Inspector-General of Nigerian Police is  Solomon Arase. 

President Jonathan has just appointed Solomon Arase as the  New Acting Inspector-General of Police.

He  was the Head of the Force Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department. He was also the former Commissioner of Police in Akwa Ibom, When he was appointed CP of Police in Akwa Ibom.

Academic Qualifications:  Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Law,  Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Political Science and Strategic Studies.

Fellow of the Nigerian Defence College.
