Isa Yuguda: I contested senatorial poll by accident

Bauchi State governor, Isa Yuguda said that he ran in the just concluded senatorial election which he lost to the APC candidate, Malam Ali Wakili, by accident.
The governor revealed this yesterday while speaking at a forum with permanent secretaries, directors and other senior civil servants in the state where he said his decision to contest the Bauchi South senatorial seat was by accident.
“I will never want to be a governor again even if the constitution is amended because; I have done my best as I have satisfied 95% of the promises made to the people of Bauchi State. What remain now for me is to hand over to the in-coming governor on 29th May and I want people to understand that all decisions taken are for the best interest of the service not for my personal interest,” he said.
He explained that during his tenure he was able to execute major projects that had been neglected by previous administrations in the state, such as the Alkaleri-Futuk road, Ningi-Burra road, Magaman Gumau-Saminaka road, newly constructed specialist hospital and the international airport, which people would remember him for.
Governor Yuguda called on people of the state to support the in-coming administration, especially in protecting lives and properties of citizens which is paramount to every leader and thanked people of the state for giving him the mandate to serve them for eight years.
