After days of rumour about his alleged ill-health or allegedly eating poisoned food, the Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, on Saturday appeared in the public in Abuja to receive a award presented to him.

Some people on social media and groups including the major opposition, PDP had questioned the state government’s officials over the whereabouts of the governor for over two weeks; a situation that fuelled rumour of the governor’s ill-health.

The state commissioner for information and orientation, Mr Donald Ojogo however debunked the rumour, adding that Akeredolu was not hospitalised, hale and hearty.

However, Governor Akeredolu made a surprise appearance on Saturday in Abuja to bag the AFRICAN GOVERNOR FOR INNOVATIVE LEADERSHIP AWARD.

Akeredolu flanked by wife, Mrs Betty, also received his Chief of Staff, Chief Olugbenga Ale, the state Head of Service, Mr. Dare Aragbaiye and other Cabinet members as well as the Chairman of the Ondo State Council of Obas, Olugbo of Ugbo, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Fredrick Obateru Eniolorunda Akinruntan.

He hosted his guests shortly after he was conferred with the award on Saturday, 19th October, 2019 in Abuja.
