President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, has felicitated with the Prime Minister of Britain, Mr. David Cameron, on his reelection in the just concluded United Kingdom elections.
Buhari, in a statement issued by his media team in Abuja yesterday, noted that he looks forward to working
with the British government led by Cameron in many respects, after
his assumption of office in Nigeria on May 29.
This was as he noted that, “Nigeria and the Britain have enjoyed good relationships, and we look forward to developing even stronger ties.”
The President-elect went on to commend
Cameron for the role the British government played before, during
and after the Nigerian elections.
“Britain, the US, EU, ECOWAS, AU and the UN have played vital roles in ensuring that democratic norms were adhered to during our elections. Their role in the smooth outcome of the just concluded Nigerian elections can never be overemphasized,” he said.
The incoming President added that he equally anticipates furthering the “special, warm and friendly relationships” between the government and people of Nigeria and the
