Professor Pat Utomi, the Labour Party's chieftain, has dared the presidential standard bearer to go for medicals if he is sure of his fitness to run for the most coveted seat in the country in 2023 and present his medical results for the public to see. He said,
"If there is my turn that is wrong in this way, it is my turn to make, that is, it is not his turn. It will be his turn. What about the other people in Nigeria? To be very honest with you, I will not be seeking political office at this age. Our country has suffered so much from having an ailing leader, and that is why the vice president stepped up, because he saw there was a challenge. An American president goes through medical records that have been made public. Let him go through a medical with Nigerian doctors. It (the result) has to be in public."
While featuring as a guest on Channels Televisio's Politics Today, Professor Utomi, who is a political economist, questioned Tinubu's use of the word "Emilokan" when he visited Ogun State a few months ago. He also said that at his age, Tinubu can't insist on running Nigeria.
He said that Tinubu's slogan was true when Goodluck Jonathan ran for president, but it's wrong to say that it's his turn now, because the principle of inclusion should be taken into account at this point in Nigeria's history.
He made it known that it was not Tinubu's turn because of his age and health status, which he dared him to make public if he thought otherwise.
