Hon Femi Gbajabiamila, the eloquent legislator who represents Surulere 1 constituency in the House of Representatives, has emerge Speaker of House in the 8th Assembly.

He emerged the consensus candidate at an internal election organised for the contenders of the speakership position by the All Progressives Congress (APC) ?at the bowels of the ICC in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

His other challenger is Bauchi state born legislator, Honourable Yakubu Dogara.

?Dogara’s camp however staged a walk out from the venue of the election despite both candidates agreeing earlier to abide by the decision of the party.

Honourable Abdulmumin Jubrin, a former candidate for the speakership position who stepped led lawmakers-elect loyal to Dogara said the election was a sham.
