All Progressives Grand Alliance, (APGA) Senatorial candidate for Abia North Senatorial seat in the last election, Dr. David Onuoha-Bourdex, has urged the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) to confess the serial acts of monumental electoral heists it committed in the country and seek the forgiveness of Nigerians.
Onuoha-Bourdex, who is currently challenging the declaration of Hon. Mao Ohuabunwa, as the winner of the senatorial election by the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) regretted that a lot of man hours and resources have been wasted through litigations caused by PDP’s rigging manifesto.
He said that while authentic representatives of the people are settling down to give effective representation to their constituents who voted for them, some of them are being distracted by the efforts to retrieve their stolen mandates.
Speaking to newsmen on the progress of his petition at the tribunal yesterday, Onuoha-Bourdex said he developed an appropriate timeline and guide marks to ensure that the good people of Abia North Senatorial Zone did not miss anything in the Senate during the 8th National Assembly.
“But here I am distracted by a needless recourse to election petition tribunal to retrieve a mandate freely given to me by the people from political marauders that have been rejected by Nigerians. The monumental loss caused by PDP’s rigging machinery to this country is unquantifiable.
“It is for this reason that I am calling on PDP to confess their sins against Nigeria democracy and seek the forgiveness from Nigerians. And unless they toe this path of genuine contrition and reconciliation with God, there may be nothing called PDP in the country,” the APGA candidate declared.
He lamented that while he was incurring additional cost to ensure that INEC was compelled to restore his victory, an interloper would present himself at the Senate to enjoy an unmerited but brief access to the upper chamber of the federal legislature.
Onuoha-Bourdex therefore enjoyed the 8th National Assembly to as a matter of priority fine-tune the nation’s “electoral laws to ensure that those who steal or are conferred with dubious mandates are purged of their political iniquity” before being sworn into office.
He expressed optimism that the Abia State National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal would do justice to his petition adding that before the expiration of the 180 days window, his mandate would be restore as the real winner of the Abia North Senatorial seat.
Meanwhile, following calls for his removal, Senator Bukola Saraki, has reportedly blocked attempts by his colleagues to challenge the emergence of senator Ike Ekweremadu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as deputy speaker.
