A former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, has scored President Buhari highly in his 100 days as Nigeria’s number one citizen.

Tukur was talking to the press as part of a series of events to mark his 80th birthday.

Tukur said the President has delivered on his campaign promises to confront corruption, improve power supply, and confront insecurity head-on, thus far.

He said, “When Buhari came, he said he wanted to confront corruption, insecurity, unemployment and power. He‎ set an agenda, the nation is working and is going on. To me, they are going ‎the right way, they are not deviating from what they said they will do.”

Tukur quickly dispelled suggestions he’ll be dumping the PDP for the APC in light of his comments. He said it’s impossible for him to change political platform at 80 years of age.

“You want to change somebody’s character at 80? Is it possible? At 80 you remain who you are because you cannot bend anymore. If you do it by force, you will break,” he said.
