Winners Chapel Responds To "We'll Open The Gates of Hell" Allegation Against Oyedepo

On Sunday, President Goodluck Jonathan visited Faith Tabernacle in Ota, and this led to social media accusations and rumors that the famous G.O. of the church, Bishop David Oyedepo, threatened to open the 'gates of hell' on anyone who opposed Jonathan's re-election.

After scrutinizing the video, Nigerian Bulletin's conclusion was "We did not find any instance in the clip where the bishop said "we will release the gates of hell on those who oppose you."

We however admit that there is a possibility that an extended clip may contain those words."

Hanging on that iffy balance, The Cable reports that it has contacted Faith Tabernacle and the response from the church was:

“It is not true that anything like that was said during the service. You people in the media are the ones saying all of this, but the church is not worried.”

We have asked church members who were present that day, and we have found no one who can corroborate the rumors that the bishop said what he is accused of saying.
