Deputy Leader of the Senate, Senator Bala Ibn Na’Allah, yesterday denied reports that he had agreed to step down from his position to pave way for reconciliation in the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Senator Na’Allah had assumed the position against the wish of the APC which sent a list of persons it wanted to be considered as principal officers of the Senate.
Senate President Bukola Saraki ignored the list and named Na’Allah and others as the principal officers.
On Wednesday, media reports suggested that Na’Allah and his colleagues, excluding Senator Ali Ndume, the Senate Leader had agreed to resign their positions.
Reacting to the report, Mr Na’Allah said he was not contacted by anybody on the need for him to resign his position.
Speaking on the floor of the Senate yesterday, he also dispelled speculations that he had agreed to trade his seat for a juicy committee position.
