Niger State Governor Abubakar Sani Bello has decried how immediate past PDP government in the state looted the state’s treasury and also started on civil servants pension funds
He disclosed this at the flag- off of All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign rally for the state forthcoming local government election held in Lapai, Lapai Local Government area of the state.
The governor lamented that after embezzling the state treasury, some members of the last administration went ahead to loot pension money that was meant for civil servants who have meritoriously served the state and retired.
Bello said that government has started taking action on the looters of the pension funds by arresting them so as to recover them and take next line of action adding that the state civil servants opted to go out of the new pension scheme because it was inimical to them.
He added that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lacked the moral right to govern this country again, after 16 years of plundering the economy and the social structure of the country.
The governor said the opposition party has debased the moral values of the society as the party lacked consciousness and virtues to call it’s members to order in the glee of recklessness and impunity that characterised the management of the country by the party.
Wondering why the PDP felt comfortable embezzling funds meant for arms purchase, the governor said, “One cannot comprehend how they (PDP) felt comfortable with such kind of money when our soldiers were dying fighting insurgents in the north east.”
