A nail artist who has spent 23 years growing her nails which takes a week to paint, has been crowned with title of the world’s longest fingernails by Guinness World Records.
A nail artist from Houston, Texas, identified as Ayanna Williams, has been crowned with the title of the world’s longest fingernails by the 2018 Guinness World Records, and in total her nails measure more than 18 feet long, each of which is just under two foot long.
She has also revealed that the most challenging thing about having extremely long fingernails, which can take up to one week to paint, is pulling up her trousers.
While she’s constantly getting lots of attention for her nails, and knows she is rather unique, her friends and family think it’s quite normal.
In order to take care of her nails, Ayanna uses anti-bacterial soap and a nail brush to clean them daily. And to help them grow, she regularly applies hardener and a thin layer of acrylic.
‘To let my children know that anything they want to accomplish can be done. It takes courage, discipline and patience but it can be accomplished,’ said Ayanna on her reason for applying for the record.
‘I am elated and honoured. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d make it into the Guinness World Records books!

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has reportedly uncovered an uncompleted eight-storey building allegedly belonging to Patience Jonathan, the wife of former President Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja.
The magnificent edifice, located within the Central Business District, is between the National Mosque and the Federal Secretariat, Punch reports.
The ex-First Lady allegedly acquired the property through her foundation known as Aribawa Aurera Reach Out Foundation.
In a document, which has been attached to a court application, the anti-graft agency said it had written to the Corporate Affairs Commission to get the identities of the directors of the foundation who are believed to be fronts for Patience.
The anti-graft agency has also written eight banks: Skye Bank, Fidelity Bank, First Bank, Union Bank, Guaranty Trust Bank, Zenith Bank, United Bank for Africa and Unity Bank.
The document read, “Plot 1350 Cadastral Zone A00 CBD which was allocated to Ariwabai Aurera Reach Out Foundation in 2010 and Certificate of Occupancy issued in 2011. The plot bears an eight-storey building still under construction.
“Inference may be drawn from investigation that the suspect’s (Patience) last known official position was permanent secretary in Bayelsa State. Hence, there is no way such magnificent architectural edifices could have been built within a short space of time.
“There is a high probability that it could have been built with the proceeds of crime. It is evidently clear that it is a case of money laundering but there is a need to do more investigation.”
“In view of the foregoing, I request for an interim forfeiture order on the two properties amongst others linked to the suspect and believed to have been acquired from the proceeds of crime.
“This is particularly very important because attempts to mark the properties were resisted and even the portion that was successfully marked was later cleaned off by the agents of the suspect.”
Mike Olu Akinlabi who is now a PhD holder shared his grass to grace story.
Olu wrote this inspiring story on his wall;
“20 years ago, the only thing I had was a dream. Though I had beautiful dreams, the physical resources to meet my heart desires were beyond my reach. I was homeless, worked as a motor boy or bus conductor (Nigerians will understand this)…. Despite all these challenges, I dedicated at least 2 hours each day to develop myself. I was told several times to quit trying. I was told to stop dreaming….
To keep the story short, in 2006 I had my first degree and I graduated top in my class. In 2010, an MSc; in 2011, an MPhil from the University of Cambridge; in 2016, a PhD in Criminology and Criminal Justice from Griffith University Australia.”

After visiting the church, Willie Obiano, governor of Anambra, said the incident was the fallout of a feud between two brothers who are based abroad.
Reports have it that the gunman had invaded the church in search of Ikegwuonu, popularly known as “Bishop”, who is said to be having a prolonged misunderstanding with a relative whose name is yet to be ascertained.
Although not much is known about Ikegwuonu, there are reports that he is a drug dealer based in South Africa.
According to reports, in 2015, a gang war broke out in South Africa between two drug cartels which led to deaths of over 15 people, both in South Africa and Nigeria.
Despite the negative reputation, people in his community see him as a philanthropist.
He is said to have tarred some roads in his community – Amakwa Ozubulu in Ekwusigo local government area – and had also contributed to the building of St. Aloysius Church of Divine Mercy, still in Ozubulu.
In fact, on May 1, 2017, the governor was billed to inaugurate some of the roads Ikegwuonu tarred in his community.

Although it couldn’t be confirmed if the governor later did, the commissioning was to hold alongside Ikegwonu’s 36th birthday celebration at St Philip’s, same church where the bloodbath took place two months after. Pictures of what seemed to be the event where late uploaded on the internet
Ikegwuonu is also said to have a non-governmental organisation – Ebubechukwu Uzo Foundation Ozubulu – which is focused on members of his community as well as neighbouring communities.
Although there’s not much known about the NGO, its Facebook page shows pictures and details of programmes reportedly targeted at improving the lives of the people.
Among the organisation’s objectives, according to the page, is “to assist churches in various ways in order to bring people nearer to God.”

Other objectives are “to assist in the development of quality education for children, youth and adults” as well as “to help improve healthcare services for the people.”
A post made on March 9, 2016, said Ikegwuonu had instituted a salary scheme for the people of Ozubulu, including the aged.
“Chief Aloysius Nnamdi Ikegwuonu, Akuchinyere Nwata 1, Ebubechukwu Uzo Ozubuku, never forgets his promise to the people of Ozubulu,” the post read.
“Aside paying the aged people in Ozubulu, he includes the oldest men in Ozubulku like Okenye Amankwa, Egbema, Eziora and Nza. The four Obi in Ozubulu are now benefitting from Ebubechukwu uzo salary scheme.
“We, the people of Ozubulu will increase the fire in our daily prayers for Almighty God to give him more blessing and long life in Jesus name.”
Another post on the page dated May 1, 2015, shows a picture of pupils of Orumba Primary School at the birthday mass of Ikegwuonu, held in the same church – St. Philip’s Catholic church.
Ikegwuonu was also conferred with the ozo title – one of the most revered positions in Igbo land – by Igwe of Umuje (a.k.a Igwe Talu Nchara), according to a December 2014 post.
“Ebubechukwu Uzo receiving Ozo title as Uzochukwu Kwalu 1 of Umuje Anyamelum LGA on 14th Decemeber, 2014, after which he collected the title with the sum of N500,000,” the post read.
“The Igwe of Umuje said he gave the title to Chief Alloy because of his kind gesture to indigenes of Umuje.”
The police are yet to release detailed information on the attack.

The notorious ritual cult group, Badoo, Sunday struck in Ikorodu area of Lagos State, killing a couple and two of their children.
The couple were identified as Mr. and Mrs. Adejare. The third kid was said to be in a coma at the Ikorodu General Hospital.
A resident of the area was quoted as saying that the incident became known around 12pm when church members of the deceased checked on them on the way from church.
He said, “They had a special programme in their church today (Sunday). The members decided to check on them because they did not come to the church. They found the whole family in a pool of blood and raised the alarm. One of the three children was still breathing. He was rushed to the general hospital.
“There are burglar-proof bars on the windows in the house, except in the kitchen. They came through the kitchen. They tore the net and entered the house.
“We seem to have relaxed in securing the community because the attack subsided for some time. Even the police patrol has reduced.”
“The apartment was given to them by the church. The couple were on the bed, while the children slept on mats. Four of them were killed. Their corpses have been deposited in the Ikorodu General Hospital mortuary,” he added.
Reacting to the incident, however, the Lagos State police spokesperson, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole, said the killings might have no connection with the Badoo cult, adding that the location of the family’s residence was not accessible to vehicles.
He said, “The house is just a room and parlour with one open window and no visible form of security. A family of five were attacked. Three died on the spot, one died while receiving treatment at a hospital and the last member is alive and responding to treatment.
“No visible trace of violence or clues linked to the cult was found. No stone was found at the scene. A case of murder is being investigated by police detectives, which doesn’t fit in the modus operandi of the cult.”
